The Dutch photographer Desirée Dolron has had her work snapped up by collectors at exhibitions in Europe, and will be shown at artLONDON (June 4 to 8 in Chelsea) by Michael Hoppen Photography and Shine Gallery. The pictures at the fair come from her recent visit to Cuba and are priced from £2,000 plus VAT.
Michael Hoppen will also be showing work by a number of other photographers including Henri Cartier Bresson. The UK market for photography has changed signficantly in recent years, says Mr Hoppen. “There has been a big turnaround, with the British now waking up to the pleasure of owning a photograph,” he says. Although it is changing, the UK market is still some way behind countries such as France and America, where photography attracts much greater collecting interest.
